Report of the
5th day
The day began on a very serene note with a blissful morning prayer by
the group Shooting stars. The prayer was entirely based on the theme, Art of
living’ which resulted in the spread of calmness and peace across the screens.
The special item presented by the group ignited the reading minds in a
progressive way. Attendance part was way more creative by getting to know each
other even more by knowing everyone’s hobby. All in all, the prayer itself
connected all the participants in one or the other way.
The day proceeded with valuable and knowledgeable sessions where the
first session was taken by Respected Course Director, Principal of Kendriya
Vidyalaya No. 2, Delhi cantt. Ms. Bharti Kukkal maám on the topic Safety
measures and preparedness for school. Interaction was witnessed between the
speaker and participants from the very beginning till end. This session put
forward the grave concerns regarding safety for students, problems faced by
teachers in various situations and relevant solutions and measures that can be
adopted. Mam’s experience and diverse knowledge was clearly evident throughout
the session. Measures like reaching class on time, building rapport with
parents of students, healthy communication between authority and concerned
people, maintenance of anecdotes from time to time proved to be helpful in
practical scenario. As mam said, “it’s not a one day show, rather a continuous
process.” Students’ safety must not be kept at stake for any cost at all.
In this era of transition from
physical learning to online teaching learning process, certain things like
taking care of eyes, development of peaceful attitude and establishing a
comfortable platform for all agencies involved in the process are paid valid
attention. Various problems were discussed and solutions were sought in
collaborative way. Some participants shared their strategies to ease out the
struggle which was appreciated.
Keeping the future in mind, the situation on reopening the school was
also given a light of discussion where the need of things like sanitization,
social distancing, cleanliness in the premises and confidence and trust among
parents while sending their children to school were discussed.
This session ended on a very satisfactory note where all participants
could be seen equipped with skills and confidence to handle situations at their
own pace.
The second session was taken by a guest speaker, Ms. Japanjot Kaur
Sandhu who has done Bachelor's and
Masters in hotel management, former
bakery faculty at Institute of Hotel Management, Pusa and currently teaching at
Kendriya Vidyalaya no. 2, Delhi Cantt.
The session was on the topic health and nutrition. Though the words may
sound simple but the requirement of this session was indeed very high. The
session focused on an overview of our eating habits and interrelation between
what we eat and our lifestyle. It was clearly evident from the session that
faulty lifestyle leads to faulty intake of food which may not be visible today
but definitely going to trigger the problems at later age. As health problems
are increasing on alarming rate among people of all age groups, this session
proved to be an awakening for all to adopt healthy lifestyle, healthy eating
habit and need of well-maintained personal hygiene. Concept of balanced diet
was discussed in detail where requirement of nutrients was core element and many
misconceptions also got a clean slate. The session eased out the struggle by
suggesting multiple ways to improve our health and nutrition intake. Hygiene on
personal and professional level was given importance. All in all this session
was an eye opener for all.
After the lunch break, all the groups proceeded with their group meetings
where all planning and brainstorming over concepts took place. In the
meanwhile, continuous and diligent guidance was received from all the resource
persons. No doubt was left unanswered.
Later, the observation of demo lessons took place where some participants
got a chance to get their class observed by the mentors and receive guidance
and tips for improvement.
A friendly interaction was observed among all participants, mentors and
speakers where everyone was seen active and cooperative.
Thank you.
