REPORT (DAY 4)
Day 4 of the 2nd spell of the online In-service course started
with a creative and endearing morning assembly by Maths
group (Miracle Workers). All the items were thoughtfully planned and executed
with perfection. After the assembly, our Course Director Ms. Bharti Kukkal addressed the participants and appreciated the
readiness of our Resource Persons Mr. Nand Kishore Balodi, Ms. Kavita Parashar and Ms. Archana and all
participants. Ms. Bharti Kukkal emphasized on
inclusion of COVID related discussion and emphasis on health and fitness.
First session of the day was dedicated to exploring Innovative
Practices adopted by participants and the English group, Power and Glory
members shared their innovations.
Ms. Yogita Panchal presented her
innovation of integrating classroom teachings with morals and values which are
addressed using physical education, art and craft and other aspects of
education. Her valuable experiences in her publication ‘Olympism in Education: A
Pilot Project’ highlighted the practices used by her in school. Her practices
were inclusive and addressed conflict resolution.
Ms. Jaibala demonstrated use of Wordwall application that can create fun games in easy
steps. She created a game for her live audience and addressed their queries
too. She shared the scope of use of the app. She also shared her Action
research on Formative Assessment strategies for facilitating easy language
acquisition through a series of activities.
Ms. Sonakshi Bali shared her
innovative practice of using 3D Bear app for augmented reality and gave a live
demonstration of its use in classroom situation bringing wonder to the
participants who thoroughly enjoyed it.
Ours esteemed resource person, H.M. K.V. Delhi Cantt. -2 (2nd shift), shared his experiences about his
award winning innovative idea of installing sensors in front of cars for a safe
drive. He proposed an open forum where all participants should identify one
area for scope of innovation. He emphasised on need
to contribute to the social welfare of our society.
After a refreshing tea-break the second session was taken up by
T Umamaheswari (TA Eng),
ZIET Gwalior who enlightened us on the importance and acquisition of
“Communication Skills”. Her session was thoroughly interactive and thought
provoking.
The When, Why,How
And What of everyday communication was discussed in detail and importance of
non-verbal communication was pressed upon. She enlisted some positive practices
to be adopted by teachers
to improve our quality of interaction especially with students.
Our next session was a group discussion headed by Resource
person Ms. Kavita Parashar
and the topic was- ‘Discussion on syllabus(online): problems faced by teachers
during online classes and solutions. After a short ice breaking session,
English group Power and Glory came up with the problems faced due to lack of
time and pressure of syllabus completion. All participants came forward with
their experiences and solutions. Ms. Kavita guided us
with us some strategies to focus on quality rather than quality in our online
classes.
This session was followed by group activity by all groups.
